Standing up for the 250,000 people in the UK with ME

Joyce Underwood took a stand on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square on Monday 28th September 2009 at 10pm.

Joyce wanted to highlight severe ME, the effect on the person and the family, and used her time to call for research into the biomedical cause of this debilitating disease.

She spoke about the illness to the watching crowd and handed out roses chocolates and blue ribband chocolate bars with a statement on ME attached.
