"A diagnosis of exclusion"
Photographic Art Exhibition
Juliet Chenery-Robson
Durham Art Gallery, DLI Museum
Saturday 24th April - Sunday 6th June 2010

Juliet’s work depicting ME has developed further since completing her MA (with distinction) at Sunderland University. Juliet has applied to do a Phd in this subject later this year.

Since her exhibition last year at the Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art in Newcastle, Juliet’s work has won wide acclaim.

This latest exhibition is a fantastic vehicle to promote understanding and to visualise the reality of life with ME. An opportunity to reach a wide audience to deal with issues of disbelief and misconceptions. For those with ME this will offer a form of ‘phototherapy’ to represent their voice. As Juliet says “Art\photography has the power to break down boundaries of disbelief and promotes debate as it encourages people to look, think, discuss and react openly.”

Nationally and internationally recognised artist Rosy Martin is exhibiting at the same time as Juliet and speaks highly of Juliet’s successful portrayal of ME “making the invisible, visible”

Juliet extends an open invitation to attend a preview evening on Friday 23rd April 6-8pm. Please come along if you can - we all look forward to seeing you there.
