Clinical Network Coordinator Update

Update – April 2007

A note from the CFS/ME Clinical Network

It’s been a busy few months for the NHS CFS/ME teams and the clinical network. The number of referrals to the teams continues apace, in line with expectations. Considering the experience and expertise of the healthcare professionals working within each team, and that we are now three years on from local service initiation, it seems entirely appropriate that we stop referring to ‘the new services’ and think forward in terms of sustainability and service development of these now established expert teams.

Training and communications with colleagues across the NHS is a top work stream priority for the network, following on from the successful regional event in December. This message also came through loud and clear from the patient and carer forum held at ME North East’s HQ on 17 March. To this end, some new CFS/ME network web pages have been launched at: www.northtynesidepct.nhs.uk – follow the ‘health services’ and ‘CFS/ME’ links.

Finally, may I wish Julie, the Northern CFS/ME Clinical Network administrator, good luck and best wishes as she starts her maternity leave at the beginning of May. See you in January, Julie!

Please continue to send your thoughts, comments and feedback via Jennifer and the ME North East team.
