Hartlepool ME Support Group go from strength to strength

Good news for the Hartlepool group – not only have they recently secured funding to help people with ME allowing them to move their meetings from members homes back into the community in St Joseph’s Court, they are growing in numbers and strength.

On Saturday 31st March they held a Craft Fayre in the Central Library, raised lots of interest in ME, spread the word and the help they can offer, and had a busy day selling a range of arts and crafts, all made by members.
Chair of the group Len Thornhill told us “We had a great day and met lots of new people. Bryan was at the entrance to the library handing out leaflets and inviting people to pop in, Barbara worked her magic on the tombola, and Jean, Vicki and others contributed to the crafts stalls, we had a busy and enjoyable time. Eight of our members came along and offered support, and as well as enjoying the social side of the day we raised a fantastic £235 thanks to everyone for their help.” “We will certainly do it again later this year.”

As well as holding regular monthly meetings, the group hold social events and activities. To find our more contact Jean Brown on 01429 869546
