Young People'sDVD Launch

Our own DVD “All about ME” telling the experiences of young people with ME.
This DVD was made possible by a grant from County Durham Community Foundation. Filmed by Adam Chetter from Talentstar and edited by Adam, Sheila and Joanna. This was produced to allow some of our young people the opportunity to tell their stories about how ME has impacted on their lives, their family and friends. It is a very powerful tool that we will be using in future presentations and workshops for professionals in health, education and social care. We will also be using it in schools to raise awareness for both teachers and pupils. Over 5 hours of filming was reduced to just 20 minutes in order to deliver the message in a concise way. We are grateful to everyone who took part, our young people were very brave to tell their stories so honestly and with such clarity. One of our young people met with McFly to talk about ME and they also appear in this DVD. We held an launch party as part of ME Awareness Week, Trai Anfield our Patron, who also introduces the DVD came along, and we had a special visit from Pudsey Bear. We secured media coverage on the radio and in many local newspapers.
