Information we can provide

Education
We liaise closely with all the Local Education Authorities in the North East. They are given a supply of our School Packs for use with parents, home tutors, school tutors etc. If you or your school have not seen our packs and would like one, call the office and we will arrange for you to receive it. We can also supply guidelines on concessions available for young people with ME when taking exams.
Should your School and/or Teachers like to understand more about ME, we can provide training presentations as short as 10 minutes! Just contact Sheila to book a convenient date.

Benefits
What benefits can be claimed and who can claim, can be very confusing. Although we are not experts in this field, we can always source information and point you in the right direction.

Treatment
Although there is currently no recognised “cure” for ME, our members have tried many medications/complementary treatments over the years. Whilst we cannot make recommendations for you, we can provide information to give you an informed choice.
We hold a wide range of books in the office on ME, which can be loaned out.

E Mates and Pen Pals
Although some days it may feel as if you are all alone with this illness, there are other young people out there feeling exactly the same. So, we can put you in touch with someone like yourself - just contact Sheila at the office.

Volunteers
If you (or your parents!) would like to help with the Young People’s Group – in any shape or form, please contact Sheila at the office. We are always looking for articles from young people for ME & U and other duties etc.

So, any support or information you require on ME please contact
