Young People's DVD

'Educational DVD'

As you are aware, we received funding from the Local Network Fund to produce our very own Educational DVD about ME. We are working with a local production company called Talent Star, who have a great deal of expertise in this area. The aim of the DVD is to educate schools/colleges about ME and
to make people more aware of just how much young people suffer and the impact that having ME has on their lives.

A number of our young people have volunteered to partake in this project and I have been over whelmed by their honesty and enthusiasm – its not easy when “brainfog” sets in – the number of times we heard “ what did you just say” or “what was I talking about”!! We hope that the DVD will show just how young people’s lives are affected by ME –misunderstanding of the illness, loneliness, boredom, loss of friends and social contact and the feeling of just wanting to be seen as “normal”.

The DVD will be completed in September, with our new patron Trai Anfield also doing a piece for the DVD. Huge thanks to Adam, Kate, Toni-Marie & Rachael and their families for allowing us into their homes and more importantly, into their lives!
